  1. Colors/Colores: My Very First Bilingual Book (in English and Spanish) by Eric Carle, New York: Grosset & Dunlap, 2008. $8.99 ISBN 978-0-448-44883-1

This charming book is a reprint and translation of Carle’s My Very First Book of Colors (2005) designed for pre-school and kindergarten students. Carle has become well-known for his vivid tissue-paper collages and innovations in book design, and his My Very First Book of… series teaches colors, shapes, animal sounds, animal homes, and other elemen

  2. My kids LOVE Eric Carle board books, especially those with the slides. The only reason I knocked this down to three stars instead of five is because the English and Spanish sentences for the color blue (which are on the cover) are located on the BACK of the book, making reading and translating just a slight pain, having to switch between the cover and the back.

  3. What a fun way for your little ones to learn their colors and in two languages! The sliding of the cards will definitely hold their attention and the illustrations, being by Eric Carle, will keep them coming back for more!
