  1. Captain Rebel (1956) is vintage Frank Yerby; that is, it features a hero who is handsome and of above-average intelligence but is unconventional in his thoughts and conduct. This hero, or protagonist actually, will find himself in one or more hellish situations going on in his time or in his mind.
